Lalniwas
WelcomHeritage Lalniwas was a traditional
haveli constructed in the year 1750. It was the princely
palatial house of Seth Sarang Das Dadha, Dewan to the Maharaja
of Jaisalmer. Seth Sarang Das Dadha was blessed with two
sons Shri Raghunath Das Dadha and Shri Nathsi Dadha.The
intricately carved palatial haveli was renovated by Shri
Mohan Chand Dadha, a descendant of Seth Sarang Das Dadha
- the brave hearted, a member of the oldest and most respected
business family in Chennai. Rajasthani life style infused
with its art and culture is reflected in the beauty of this
old haveli which has a royal place in India Tourism.
There were eight havelis of which two were
converted into the well furnished Heritage Hotel, WelcomHeritage
Lalniwas. The third one was converted into a swimming pool
to provide welcome relief from the heat of the magnificent
Thar Desert. The fourth haveli is for recreation and to
serve as a banquet hall. You can go shopping for the typical
Rajasthani articles in the fifth haveli. The seventh haveli
is maintained as such for the owners. The eighth haveli
has been converted into a museum which takes you back to
the 13th century, a main attraction in addition to the Bird
watching tours for spotting the migratory Demoiselle cranes.
